To fly a dog or cat from Israel abroad or to Israel, the preliminary procedure must be started between 2-6 months before the flight, and a series of vaccinations and approvals must be carried out in stages, and therefore the timeline. And varies according to the country of origin and destination, the type and breed of the animal, and at the same time, a flight cage must be coordinated and a proper flight route must be found for the animals, and these requirements change every few months with the various parties.

Unlike Western countries, in Israel veterinarians are not required to know the requirements for entry and exit procedures for animals, along with the lack of response from the Ministry of Agriculture and the veterinary services, which often provide general and misleading information on import/export procedures for pets, making it difficult to understand the relevant requirements for your flight. At the same time, airlines often do not accept pets, and those that do on specific routes require additional permits and flight procedures in the context of a cage and proper flight routes for dogs and cats. If there is a problem with any of the relevant requirements, the procedure can become complex with high expenses and unexpected delays that can create concerns for the health of the animals, and as a result, companies in the field charge thousands of dollars for assistance in this regard.

Following the difficulty in flying pets in Israel, we established, after working with agricultural ministries around the world, a non-profit organization in 2010 called Pets Travel Israel, which was founded to assist in flying dogs and cats from Israel abroad or back to Israel.

The goal is to examine and coordinate all the various factors involved in flying in a direct and focused manner, and to provide an organized and easy-to-understand picture of what needs to be done at each stage after we have examined and coordinated the entire flight procedure for you, thus enabling you to fly with your animals as safely and cheaply as possible, with an emphasis on a positive flight experience for the animals and for you.
